Forged crest: when a symbol must last for generations

A crest is not a sign. It is not engraved sheet metal or printed vinyl. A crest is a symbol of identity — of a municipality, a company or a family. And a symbol should last.

A hand-forged crest made from wrought iron will stand outdoors for decades without repair. It will not fade, peel or crack with age. On the contrary — over time it develops a patina that adds character.

How is it made?

Every crest begins with documentation. For a municipal crest, we work from heraldic source material — colours, shapes and proportions must correspond to the original design. For a company logo or family symbol, the client provides the artwork and we turn it into a three-dimensional forged object.

The individual elements of the crest — the shield, figures, inscriptions — are forged separately and then assembled into a whole. Some details require dozens of hammer blows. Others are shaped with tongs while hot, millimetre by millimetre.

Who is it suitable for?

Municipal offices and towns, breweries and wineries, family businesses with a history, chateaux and restaurants with a noble theme — anywhere a symbol means something and is meant to represent values, not just look good.

The price of a forged crest ranges from 500 to several thousand euros depending on size and complexity. It is not inexpensive. But a result that lasts for generations is not meant to be.
